Description: Celebrate the personality and charm of a beloved pet through a whimsical portrait.

Create a one-of-a-kind acrylic portrait of your favorite furry, feathered, or scaled companion! In this fun and encouraging class, students will learn how to transform a favorite photograph into a colorful, whimsical painting that captures their pet's unique personality.

Using acrylic paint, we will explore simple techniques for drawing, color mixing, layering, and adding expressive details. Instruction will include step-by-step demonstrations, individual guidance, and plenty of creative encouragement, allowing each artist to develop a portrait in their own style.

Students should bring one (8×10 color print) of their pet, printed on standard paper, to use as a reference throughout the class. If you do not have access to a color printer, please email photos to kara@artcentergreenville.org.

No prior painting experience is necessary. Just bring a love for pets and a willingness to create!

Supplies: We will provide all supplies. All students must have a photo of their pet to reference.
