Description: Discover the beauty of the natural world through drawing with artist Kate Furman! In this hands-on class, you'll explore graphite, pen and ink, and expressive ink washes while working from carefully arranged natural still lifes and reference photography. Learn the fundamentals of observation, rendering, texture, light, and form as you develop confidence with both pencil and drawing pens. Whether you're new to drawing or looking to strengthen your skills, this class offers a creative and inspiring way to bring nature to life on paper.

Kate is a Greenville, SC based jewelry artist known for transforming nature-inspired sketches into handcrafted fine jewelry. With her BFA in Jewelry and Metalsmithing from the University of Georgia and her MFA in Jewelry and Metalsmithing from the Rhode Island School of Design, she blends traditional techniques with a modern, organic aesthetic.
